With key entry, a separate gate system and no access logs, Fitzwilliam Quay needed greater control over who could enter the development. Induct connected its gates, block entrances and bike sheds under one platform, with app and fob access for residents.

Fitzwilliam Quay Apartments is a 102-apartment development in Dublin 4, comprising four blocks sharing a basement car park. Managed by Indigo Real Estate Management, it relied on key entry for its doors and a separate GSM system for vehicle gate access.
There were no access logs and no clear record of who still held keys. Keys could remain with former residents, while the separate gate system made it difficult to track who was entering the car park. The five basement entrances and two bike shed doors relied on key entry. The board wanted more secure access, with records that management could review when issues occurred.
Other access control systems were considered, but their cost and the complexity of installing them across the site made them difficult to justify.

Induct installed access control across 14 points: two vehicle gates, one pedestrian gate, two bike sheds, four ground-level block entrances and five basement entrances.
The installation took place over the course of two weeks, reusing existing wiring and infrastructure where possible. Electric locks were fitted to the five basement doors and both bike shed doors, enabling fob and app access.
Induct coordinated the full installation, including door electrification and resident onboarding. Letters guided residents through registering themselves and their fobs in one to two minutes. All occupied apartments were onboarded before the installation began.
Residents can use a fob or the app throughout the development, with the additional option of calling to open either vehicle gate. Management can now oversee access across the gates, block entrances and shared facilities from the Induct Admin Platform.

Management now has a clear record of access across the development, with around 15,000 events logged each month. If an issue arises at a block entrance, bike shed or car park gate, the team can review access activity to support its investigation.
For residents, one fob or app now covers their everyday routes through the development. They no longer need separate keys for block entrances and shared facilities, and can open the vehicle gates by fob, app or phone call.
Ongoing requests are handled through the same platform. New residents can request access and fobs through the app, while existing residents can request replacements, giving management one place to handle access across all four blocks.
